POSITION: SPACE PLANNER

LOCATION: Our Arlington, VA Office

JOB DESCRIPTION: The position of space planner is primarily one of space planning production work with the added responsibility of client contact/project management. The person(s) hired will work in our office on a full time capacity. They must also be able to perform field measurement and inventory duties. Other duties include meeting with end users, programming, space planning and furniture specification. All of our space planning work is currently done utilizing AutoCAD. We also use the 20-20 CAP Studio software as well as various other design/specification software packages.

REQUIRED SKILLS: A comprehensive knowledge of systems furniture and the space planning process involved in projects as small as one workstation and as large as several thousand workstations. A demonstrable skill at using CADD for space planning with a preference for AutoCAD and/or CAP experience is necessary. Requirements include a degree in interior design, preferably from a FIDER accredited institution. NCIDQ certification is not a requirement but will get special attention. Furniture dealership experience and an interior design background are also preferred. Knowledge of current ADA requirements and fire and life safety codes is essential.
